I’ve shared some about my life already in this post, but I wanted to give a fuller, more in-depth testimony. My life has been shaped by many things, and not all of it is stuff that I’m proud of, lol! But God has been very good to me, and that is the essence of my testimony.
I was born and raised in a Christian home. That was a good start for me because I was immersed in the things of God from a very young age. We attended church and sought Jesus in every aspect of our lives.

When I was thinking about creating this ministry, I knew I’d have to come up with a name for it. I mean, it was eighteen months since I had graduated with my mass communications and marketing degree – I know all the reasons to have an eyecatching, meaningful name. I prayed long and hard about the right name for this ministry – one that would hint at what the ministry was intended to do and also be catchy and “hip.”
(On a side note, I know that God can use whatever He wants – I could have a completely un-marketable name and still be used, but I believe in doing what you can and then letting God take care of the rest!) As I was scanning through an old Rich Mullins album, my eyes lit on the title of the record “Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth.” That got me thinking, and I tentatively named the fledgling ministry “Winds of Heaven,” thinking of Jesus’ words in John 3. “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” – John 3:8 Hi! My name is Sarah Grace, and I’m a young adult who started the Wings of Heaven in response to a call from God to launch the ministry that I have dreamed of starting since I was about 15.
For many years, I’ve longed to help others in their walk with Jesus. I see a lot of Christians walking around with unfulfilled lives, hopelessness, and a disconnect from God that causes them to not actually know Him the way that He wants to be known. And I want to see that changed. I want to help others connect with God in a real, raw way. He’s so awesome and amazing – who wouldn’t want to know Him??? I grew up in a Christian home and was raised in an environment where Christ was the center of our lives. It was completely natural for me to pray or memorize long passages of Scripture growing up because my parents and older siblings were constantly in prayer or in the Word. When I was five years old, I gave my life to Him, and my life has gone from there. |
